Mryc family

Mryc or Mryts (Мриц) family:

My great-great grandfather Ivan Koczyrkiewicz (b. 1 May 1848, Tur’ie-d. 2 Dec. 1882, Mystychi) was married to Rozalia Mryc (b. 28 Nov. (10 Dec.) 1852, Bolianovychi). Her family originally came from the small village of Hankovychi (Hankowice).

The oldest of her known paternal ancestors are as follow (as there were a number of Fedirs in the family, along with a number of remarriages, there may be some inaccuracies in this information):

1. Fedir Mryc (1752-14 Jan. 1837) and 1) Anastasia (1766-7 March 1794, née Fedyk); 2) Xenia (1772-17 May 1839, née Hapij), residing at house nos. 17 and 18, have the following children:
  • Ivan (1788-26 Jan. 1808)
  • Mykhailo (2 June 1791-15 Aug. 1831)
  • Fedir (Fetko) (16 July 1796-16 April 1856). Marries 1) Paraskeva (1796-20 Feb. 1832, née Antoczko) on 30 October 1814; 2) Magdalena Desler (1804-21 Feb. 1863) on 19 February 1832.
  • Pelahia (5 June 1800). Marries Ivan Butyter (1779) on 14 November 1819.
  • Ostap (12 Dec. 1803-6 Dec. 1868)

2. Ostap (Stanyslav) Mryc and Anna (1819-10 Sep. 1875, née Kizlyk (variations Kizlek and Kizlik), daughter of Andrei and Maria), residing at house no. 9 (1830), no. 12 (from 1834), and no. 56 (from 1868, home of his son Anton), had the following children:

  • Ivan (25 Feb. 1830), my great-great-great grandfather
  • Kateryna (13 Jan. 1834)
  • Mykhailo (5 Aug. 1836)
  • Anton (1839; marries Anna Milanik (1849) on 5 November 1868)
  • Petro (13 July 1841). Marries Magdalena Danis, a widow (née Winiarska)
  • Maria (1 May 1844)
  • Pavlo (20 Nov. 1846-27 Nov. 1870)
  • Viktor (26 March 1850)
  • Anastasia (12 June 1852-22 March 1870)
3. Rozalia's father, my great-great-great grandfather, Ivan Mryc (Jan or Johann Mryć) (born 25 Feb. 1830) was the son of Stanyslav (Evstakhiy or Ostap) Mryc and Anna Kizlyk. He married Maria Chmielewska (b. ca. 1833-1836, Bolanowice-d. 21 Mar. 1902, Ternopil) on 21 October (2 November) 1852 in Bolianovychi (Bolanowice), a neighboring village to Hankovychi. Maria was the daughter of Anton Chmielewski and Anastasia Łonkiewicz (Lonkevych) (ca. 1795-29 September 1863 in Bolianovychi). Their marriage was blessed by Rev. Ipolyt Stanchak of the parish Myshliatychi (Myślatycze), presumably the nearby village from where came the Mrycy. Ivan worked as a school teacher; therefore the family moved frequently for his various postings:
1852-1858       Bolianovychi (Mostyskyi district, Lviv oblast)
1861-1864       Krasne (Busk raion, Lviv oblast, formerly Univ district)
1865-1868       Podusiv (Podusow) (Lviv oblast, south of Univ)
1869-1870       Litynia (Lviv oblast, northeast of Drohobych)
1871                Tyniv (Tynow) (Lviv oblast, nearby Litynia)
1872-1890       Hirske (Horucko) (Lviv oblast, just east of Litynia)
Their first children, including my great-great grandmother Rozalia, were born in Bolianovychi where they resided at house no. 95 associated with the school. Ivan and Maria’s children:

4. Great-great grandmother. Rozalia or Efrosina Mryc (b. 28 November (10 December) 1852, Bolianovychi). Godfather: Rev. Antin Pashkevych of Baranivtsi (Baranczyce)
She married twice, first circa 1873. Her first husband, my great-great grandfather, Ivan Koczyrkiewicz ((1 May 1848, Khidnovychi (Chodnowice) -2 Dec. 1881, Mistychi (Mistycze)), was, like his father-in-law, a school teacher. They had three children: Ivan, my great-grandfather (ca. 1874, probably in Ostrozhets, Lviv oblast (Ostrożec)-31 November 1941, Przemysl); Volodymyr (ca. 1878, probably Ostrozhets-16 April 1880, Mystychi); and Antonina Evhenia (b. 2 July 1881, Mystychi; later married to Anton Pushkar). Godparents for Antonina Evhenia were: Vasyl [Lurosyszak?], a teacher, and [Sabina?] Krasicka. After Ivan Sr. died in 1881, Rozalia married a man with the surname Staszyszyn. Her second husband died sometime in 1889. They had at least one son: Iulian Stasyshyn (b. 1890-Oct. 1926; married to Maria Fedyshyn), who undertook theological studies and completed gymnasium in Ternopil in 1912. Iulian taught Latin and Polish at the Drohobych gymnasium from 1920 to 1926 and passed away there.
