Przekopana (near Przemysl)

George (Jerzy) Kiebus (also recorded by the last name Kebus, Kiebuz, and Kiebuzinski) married Eudokia (Eudocia, Eudoxia; may have gone by the name Eva too) Karpinska, the daughter of Teodor Karpinski. George worked as a farmer, and they resided at address no. 22. They had a number of children:    Except for Lucas, who was baptized in the Przekopana Ukrainian parish, the rest of the children were baptized in the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Przemysl. The family must have counted amongst its close friends members of the Was, Bilinski, and Chomicki families, who served as godparents for the christenings of George’s and Eudokia’s children. Petro Kiebus, a cousin or closer relation, perhaps, from Sielec, served as the godfather to Matvii.
Lucas (who went by the last name Kiebuzinski) (b. 6 Nov. 1782) married Maria Polniak, the daughter of Anthony Polniak. He also worked as a farmer, and resided at the same address as his parents (no. 22). Lucas and Maria had at least three children: Teodor (b. 29 [Nov.] 1805), Anastasia (b. 21 June 1807), and Ivan (John) (b. 5 Aug. 1809). Like their father, they were baptized in the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Przemysl. He maintained ties to the Was family, and also counted amongst his friends members of the Czuchman and Fedorowicz families. Maria Kiebuzinska served as the godmother to Lucas’ and Maria’s son Ivan.

Teodor (b. [6 May] 1785)

Anna (b. 19 Dec. 1787) married Ivan (John) Pastelnik, also a farmer. They resided in house no. 16. Their children included: Maria (b. 25 Feb. 1809-d. 8 May 1898), Petro (b. 9 July 1816), Oles (b. 28 Mar. 1819), Ivan (John) (b. 12 May 1821), Pelahia (b. 19 [Oct.] 1823), Xenia (b. 30 Jan. 1825), and Anna (b. 10 Feb. 1828). They were also christened at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Przemysl. The godparents to Anna’s and Ivan’s children included members of the Paszkiewicz, Chomici, Dombrowski, Fedorowicz, Jaroszewicz, Styranowski, and Rosowski families. Closer relations, Maria Polniak, Alexander Czurko, and Maria Kiebuzowa (for their daughter Maria), also served as godparents.

Matvii (Matthew) (b. 20 Aug. 1790)

Danylo (Daniel) (b. 27 Dec. 1792)

Dmytro (Demetrius) (b. 3 Sep. 1794)

Ivan (b. 10 Dec. 1797) went by Kebuz / Kiebuz) married twice. His first marriage was to 1) Pelahia Was (father Fedir) in February 1819. They had a daughter, Maria (25 Jan. 1821), and a son, Mykola (Nicholas) (b. 18 Dec. 1825). Their address was no. 22 Przekopana, and in 1826 Ivan's mother was residing with them. They may have had a connection to Sielec too. Mykola’s godparents were Alexander Czurko and Magdalena Kubant. Ivan's second marriage was to 2) Xenia Graczko (b. ca. 1787) in November 1827. They maintained the same address. Their children included: Vasyl (Basili) (b. 27 Oct. 1828), Anna (b. 8 July 1831), Iosyf (Josef) (b. 14 Apr. 1833), and Ivan (John) (b. 12 June 1835). All the children were baptized in the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Przemysl. The godparents to their children were drawn from the Kristof, Salnicki, Kubant, and Jarosewicz families.

Pelahia (b. 16 Nov. 1801)

There are other Kiebuz / Kiebuzinski connections to Przekopana.

Anna, daughter of Andrei Kiebuz / Kiebuzinski (recorded in the baptismal register with both last names), married Alexander Czurko (Curko/Szczurko). They were farmers, and resided in house no. 18. Their children included: Teodor (b. 19 June 1807), Mykhailo (Michael) (b. 2 Oct. 1808), Paraskieva (b. 26 Oct. 1809), Andrei (b. 17 July 1812), and Dmytro (Demetrius) (b. 26 Oct. 1814). The godparents to their children were members of the Fedorowicz, Chomicki, and Plownicki families. Maria Kiebuzowa served as godmother to their son Andrei. Perhaps Anna’s father Andrei was George’s brother.

Another Kiebus in Przekopana was Tatianna. She married Tymofei (Timothy) [Janisznowski?]. They resided in Przemysl at address no. 70. They had a son Mykhailo (Michael) (b. 1 June 1795). He was baptized at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral. His godparents were Ivan Sidorowicz and Anna Kiebuzinska of nearby Blonie.

Mykhailo Kiebuz (b. 26 Nov. 1867) was the son of Petro and Anastasia Kaspryk of Krowniki. He owned property at 24 Przekopana. He married Kateryna Fedorovych (Fedorowicz) (b. 1 April 1873), the daughter of Iosyf and Maria Murdza of Przekopana, on 13 June 1897. Their children: Iosyfa (b. 31 March 1898), Maria (b. 18 Sep. 1899-d. 23 Sep. 1899), Ivan (b. 4 Oct. 1900), Stefania (10 Sep. 1903), and Volodymyr (b. 9 Oct. 1905).

Iosyfa, 142, Przekopana, marries Antin Pomianek (b. 24 Jan. 1892, Cieszanow, Rzeszow district; Mathei and Maria Jadovik?) on 9 June 1919 in Przemysl.

Stefania, 142, Przekopana, marries Julian Palchynskyi (Palczynski) (b. 18 Feb. 1897, Dmytro and Maria Zasadna) on 11 November 1922 in Przemysl.

Kateryna (Katarzyna) Kiebuz (d. 1 Jan. 1952) is buried in the Przekopana cemetery (quarter 2, row 3, plot no. 4).
